  All Circuits Busy

Have you ever called MD Relay only to believe your call was answered in voice, then disconnected?

What probably happened is that the Relay Center never received your call. Instead, your call may have been stopped by the local phone company due to an overloaded system. Calls must go through the telephone network before they reach the number you are calling. In times of high call volume, like holidays or bad weather, many thousands of people are trying to make calls at the same time, causing the system to be overloaded.

Here's What Happens When All Circuits Are Busy As the calls pass through the telephone switches, some switches get overloaded.
Here's What Happens When All Circuits Are Busy The telephone company cannot handle all of these calls at one time.
Here's What Happens When All Circuits Are Busy Instead of just dropping these calls that appear to go nowhere, the telephone company plays a recorded message that says, "All circuits are busy. Please hang up and try again later." At the end of the recording, the call is disconnected.
